Types of Sites

There are many different types of sites you can create with the modules and settings available. These range from more traditional sites that are editable only by a few site maintainers to full-blown online communities or social networking sites that are highly interactive.

The following sections describe some main site types and how a typical site might be configured as well as which modules would be enabled or disabled. You can of course completely follow your own path depending on the nature of your particular business, audience, etc.

Basic Modules

These are "helper" modules that provide certain basic functions that virtually all sites should have enabled unless there is a specific reason not to enable them.

  • Subscriptions: allows website visitors to sign up for an account and be notified of new content, or to keep track of conversations they have commented on.
  • Drupal: allows visitors to sign in to the site with an account from any other Bryght or Drupal site. By default also lists you in the Bryght Sites directory.
  • Syndication: displays a syndicate block with a "more" link that directs visitors to a page which describes all the RSS feeds available from the site
  • MORE TO COME
