Login to Your Bryght Site Using OpenID

To enable OpenID logins, you or the site administrator will need to enable the OpenID module. That's done through Administer (top menu) » Site configuration » Modules.

Enable your user account to accept your OpenID URL

  1. If you don't already have an account on the site, you will need to create an account. See our instructions creating user accounts on Bryght sites. (Bryght sites do not yet support OpenID Simple Registration, so you will need to go through this step before associating OpenID with your Bryght site.)
  2. Click the "my account" link, typically seen in left or right sidebar.
  3. Click the OpenID Identities tab.
  4. Paste in your OpenID URL in box labeled "Add an OpenID".
  5. You will be redirected to your OpenID provider of choice, where you will be asked to allow logins from your Bryght site.

You can add multiple URLs as long as you have access to the OpenID providers behind them.

Here's a screencast of enabling your user account to accept your OpenID (original high quality Quicktime version):

Logging Into Your Site With Your OpenID URL

  1. If you see a login block on the sidebar, and OpenID logins are enabled click the OpenID icon Log in using OpenID link.
  2. The login block will change so that it only shows one box for a OpenID URL (instead of the usual two for username and password).
  3. You will be redirected to your OpenID provider, where if you haven't already, you will have to login. Your OpenID provider may also ask you to allow your site to receive OpenID logins.
  4. You will get redirected back to your Bryght site, logged in.
