"Automated Tagging"

Categories:

Hi ... is there a way using the existing modules to have blog posts either:

a) automatically create tags (i.e. links to Technorati tags) from the categories/terms a post is filed under, or

b) have some sort of "mark-up" that would simplify the process (for instance a wiki-ish [t:jamehealy] would get parsed to <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/jamehealy" rel="tag">jamehealy</a>).   By the way, would this module accomplish that?

... just a thought.

And by the way: I'm loving my Bryght Web 2.0 site!

Two modules still in development

Two modules, currently in development, look like they go halfway to an ideal solution. One by Jordan Willms uses the taxonomy to automatically create Technorati tags, but aren't tags at the system level, since you have to create the taxonomy terms manually through administer » categories. (That said, in the next release of the Bryght platform, we will include 'free-tagging', which automatically creates taxonomy terms 'on the fly' as you post.) Another module adds a box where you can type them in, but doesn't use the taxonomy. Of the two, the last one is closer to what you're thinking. Neither do b), but my guess is you wouldn't need it if the system automatically created the tags anyway.

Whoops...

Sorry guys,

I just noticed that I'm asking for the same things as kk+ up further in the forum/thread. (It was because I was originally posting to the wrong forum area, blah, blah, blah... my fault.)
