I need a simple way to upload and embed images into posts in as few steps as possible. This request comes at the tail end of a long debacle we've been having
with a client. They're using a configuration of Bryght we've set up for
them where over a hundred students with little or no blogging experience want to post their musings.

In short, the Insert/edit image function in Tiny_MCE is next to useless for them since it doesn't upload images. In that regard, HTML_Area was a far sight better than it's replacement.

I've turned on and tested img_assist for them and I think it is still worse than HTML_Area. Here's an excerpt of a review of img_assist I gave to our client:
