Drupal Profile Request - Infopreneur/Publisher
Guys,
I have three clients that need a modern site for the monetization of information. Call it infopreneur, information publisher, whatever. It seems like a huge category that you can't ignore. Here's my list of features needed for this type of profile. I know you have most of this, but I think you are missing a few very CRITICAL pieces (membership/subscriber management, email marketing list management, newsletter management).
I really hope you have plans to fill this gap.

Content tagging

Webinars – with audio/video via Skype?
Search – all content (articles, blog entries, archives, etc.)

Shopping cart (for ebooks, audio programs, etc.)
Product catalog and management
Subscription/Membership Management (with recurring billing options, expiration notifications, credit card changes/updates, etc.)

Landing pages (for advertisements)
Autoresponders management – ability to automatically send emails to users in response to actions they take (like giving you their email address).

User Experience:
User personalization (looks/works based on their identity/demographic, etc.)

User roles – eg., Guest, SilverMember, GoldMember, Doctor, etc.
User profiles – managed by users
User add/suspend/delete, etc.
Community:
Forums – user discussions
Conferencing – for delivery of interactive, verbal content
User Polls and/or Surveys
System Structures:
Sub-domains – To allow creation of niche sites (off the 'hub' site) focused on a particular topic or product.
Ability to easily create niche sites
Custom programming/configurations – There will always be “special needs†that will require some custom work by technical staff. The system should facilitate this.
Automation – anything that can be automated with programming should be.

Thanks for the thought that went into this....there's a lot there!
The membership management / subscription + ecommerce elements are definitely something that are of high interest. From site memberships to event registration....lots of people want this.
The ecommerce bundle is currently a very large, rather complex to administrate solution. We've seen some new modules -- Order + Pay -- get released, so those will be something to look into.
We don't heavily want to get into any of the email stuff, but understand it's an important solution. We're a fan of the "simplenews" newsletter solution...but it is very simple. Integrating with external solutions looks like the best bet here.
I like the name "infropreneur"...
