Color picker gone
A few weeks ago I successfully used the color picker to change the default colors on the garland theme on my test site, and it worked very well. I went back to http://devel.canaryfoundation.org/admin/build/themes/settings/garland today to make a minor modification, but I discovered that the color picker was gone. In its place is a large text area for Custom CSS. Also, the collapsable sections on that page won't collapse; they're all open and the section title is simply black text rather than a link. This isn't urgent (clearly merely a cosmetic issue) but if you have any ideas I'd love to hear. Thanks guys.

Richard found the cause of
Richard found the cause of this problem: Color picker doesn't work when file uploads are set to "private". This is documented here.
The workaround is to temporarily make file access public, change your color scheme with the color picker, then make file access private again. Your new color scheme should persist.
Color module
Check to see if the Color module is enabled under Administer » Site building » Modules. Otherwise check under Administer » Logs » Status report to see if anything's missing from there. If those check out, I would need an administrator account to look under the hood. Pass on the details privately, of course.
No luck so far
The Color module is enabled, and the only problem on the Status page is that cron isn't running, which shouldn't affect the color picker at all, right?
I'm sending you an email with login information.
color module and color picker on SVN
I ran into an issue with color module recently I've been meaning to share.
I run the SVN on the VPS, and when I turn on Minelli and the color module creates the first color folder where it stores the images and whatever other voodoo it uses the folder doesn't have the right permissions.
I don't know why, I don't understand that at all, but I just noticed that the permissions were not the same as any of the other folders in that images or files directory.
So I changed them...and it worked again! Matter of fact, it was a great doorway because after that I had no other problems doing fun things like renaming garland to garlandred and running multiple versions of garland on the same site...or minelli or whatever.
I highly recommend taking a look at this.

Permissions
This is for the folder named "color" in the files directory? I tried removing that folder on my VPS and it got recreated with the right permissions when I went back into the color picker. File permissions (or, rather, ownership) are one of the things I check when looking at issues like this, but you're right, it sometimes fixes a few problems at once.
Yes, that folder
Maybe it is just the first time around for garland or something? I verified it a couple times, one of the many issues with multi-theme blocks etc that was driving me crazy.
When will the new tag be released?
