Not available on the hosted service, but there is a module called Organic Groups which can sort of to this. It's not based on Buddylist (the module) but rather you can have public or invite-only groups which you can post all types of content to, including blogs. Again, this is not available on hosted service sites (that is, sites created through bryght.com/signup) but can be installed on an unsupported basis on our Virtual Private Server option.
Thanks Richard. I did have a look a the OG module; although the off-the-shelf OG module does not have a "private content" functionality, there is a patch available somewhere (courtesy: merlinofchaos) that enables me to have OG private content. Alternatively, OG audience also works wonderfully!
