Blog
A blog -- short for weblog -- is a website with frequently-updated compelling content, in reverse chronological order, each item having its own URL (often called a "permalink", short for permanent link).
Features of Blogs in Drupal
- each user that is permitted to write blog posts gets their own blog with a unique URL
- every user's blog posts appears in the "Blogs" section of a Drupal site. See this in action at http://www.urbanvancouver.com/blog;
- depending on a site's editorial policy, blog posts can automatically appear on the front page, stay on a user's blog page, or wait in a submission queue so that editors can promote the content to the front page.
- every blog has its own RSS feed, allowing readers to subscribe in their aggregator of choice or to allow syndication of their content on other sites. RSS feeds also allow other Drupal sites to easily syndicate (that is, copy the content and automatically link back to) a user's blog using the Aggregator as well as let users who read content through what's called a newsreader include a user's blog on their daily reading list
